Spam - steps you can take to controlling unwanted email

We offer three powerful methods for filtering out spam or unwanted email.

  1. SpamAssassin: You can reduce spam enabling SpamAssassin, available to you in cPanel. You also configure SpamAssassin's sensitivity to spam, by lowering its "required_score." Lowering the score will make it more strict at capturing spam, but beware that a lower score can also capture normal email.

  2. BoxTrapper: Your other option is to enable BoxTrapper on particular email addresses. BoxTrapper is also accessible from your cPanel, and it protects your inbox from spam by forcing all people not on your white list to reply to a verification email before they can send mail to you.

  3. Email filtering: You can also setup filters to filter out emails containing certain keywords, email addresses, and so forth. To do this click on "E-mail Filtering" within cPanel.
